He never saw a gun pull back it's own hammer
He said that without hesitation, or a stammer,
Nor has he ever seen a gun pull back its own trigger
He spoke that with determination and proof and vigor.
Then he said weapons don't think or have a will,
They are just inanimate objects, and people kill.
As his beliefs came charging and echoing into my mind
I decided that I wasn't going to be ignorant or blind,
Inanimate objects are created to be seen and used
And of course many times, shamefully abused.
Then I thought that I too would be truthful and subtle,
As I spoke to him, with my very own rebuttal.
I have never seen a needle jump into anyone's arm
Nor, have I ever seen crack wanting to do anyone harm,
Never have I seen meth crawl up into anyone's nose
Those are all the actions that people have chose.
So, not blame the NRA or those who sell pills or meth?
I guess inanimate objects don't kill, people decide death.
