Perfect World Poem by Tammy Mitchlmore

Perfect World

A girl walks down a shaded walk way
Children are laughing and playing
The sun shined through the line of trees
A light breeze blows her hair
The birds sing a beautifully song
When the sun set the couples come out
Leaving the children asleep at home
The crickets sign the love songs
The hold hands as they walk
But this is just a dream of a little girl
The real world is not like this
A girl walks down a dark street
Not knowing what will be around the corner
To scared to find out
She walks home to find only one can of food
She must dig through garbage to find cloths
When the sun sets she dares not be out
That's when the drugs come out
Only to be used or sold
This is the real world
But if that little girl could have her way
Her dream would be her real world
