Perfection Poem by Delilah Love

Perfection

Rating: 0.5

Impressionable girls worldwide!
Let us pay homage to our porcelain hell.
Ready...Set...Go!
Our toothbrushes as our sidekicks
the contents of our stomachs spew from our lips.
It's a symphony of agony
But wait...
Just wait...
In a little while,
we'll look exactly like her.
You know...
The glamorous and impossibly skinny
girl on the cover of that magazine.
Airbrushed, computer generated perfection.

Bow down ladies!
Fad diets here we come.
Don't eat a thing.
Carbs? Who the hell needs carbs?
Look at her!
Does she look like she eats carbs?

Ignore the dizziness
sweat till you drop.
Come on girls, don't you want to look like her?
Rail thin.
Sickly.
Gaunt and gorgeous.

Thin is in, ladies
Thin is gorgeous
Thin is all the rage
This is to DIE for.

I like the verbal irony in this poem which makes a good point ;)
