Picking A Career Poem by Daya Nandan

Picking A Career

Pick a career that catches your eye,
That sparks an enthusiasm that you cannot deny,
More towards what you want rather than what you need,
That ignites a burning passion within so you can succeed,

Trust your passions, take calculative risks too,
Dare to take a career path chosen by few,
Take advice from many, carefully weigh the pros and cons,
For a career is what you do through many dusks and dawns,

Do not blindly follow your parents or peers,
And end up working a career that you will regret for years,
Be independent, make your own choices in life,
Choose a career as if you are choosing a husband or wife,

Pick a career you love and make sure you love what you do,
The most profound advice that will bring happiness to you,
Focus less on the money and more on what evokes zest,
Once you have found it, you will surely be the best!
