Piece By Piece Is How I'Ll Let You Go Poem by Terry Mwewa

Piece By Piece Is How I'Ll Let You Go

First of all I must learn to let go
Even though its hard I still have to try
Its hard because this was not the picture I had of you and i
The picture so sweet that even its imaginable beauty made me cry
Just a glimpse at that picture gave me chills
Its memorable picture of that picture still whisper in my dreams
Dreams that are so full of you and I like an ocean divided into streams
But sadly you ripped that picture apart
With its pieces you designed a spear and stubbed my heart
And now Piece by piece is how I'll let you go
Holding on to you is like giving the sun a hug
It hurts inside while outside it remains unseen
Its burns find comfort way in deeper than the skin
I have to try to learn to let go
This is what you choose and trying to deny it
Is like arguing with a deaf mute and eventually losing
Maybe it was never meant to be for you and i
If it was, maybe its time to let things fly
Maybe its time to accept reality as it is and not try to change it
As hard as it may be things happen that we know not of
Sometimes its best not to know why
Because the need to know only creates a great desire to be deceived
So I will not fuss about the past neither will I be agitated about the future
I will rejoice in today because it is a gift that is why it is called the present.
