Piggy Parade, , , , [ Another Way Bri Edwards Interacts
With Farm Animals In Marshall, N. Carolina, U.S. of A. ]
We, the pigs and I, had a Piggy Parade today.
It was a Great Show; that I'm proud to say! !
Drivers honked & some swerved, but the 7
pigs and I would...... NOT BE unnerved! !
IN FACT, we continued to 'hog' the road...
.....no matter how many times we were told
by the Marshall town police to 'disperse! '.
You'd think our parade was their own CURSE!
Before long our marching group was 'extended'.
We marched on; we WOULD NOT be upended!
And the MPD was beefed up by added forces, ...
BUT not before our marching parade did add horses.
Yes, indeed, and Farmer Roy soon followed suit
with his milking-cows.
These were greeted by the onlooker's waves and
shouted WOWs.
Before too long helicopters from news people were
circling about, followed by two National Guard..
observation planes.
[[Of their intent, we Piggy Paraders had little doubt! ]]
Sure as the dickens Air Force planes followed! ! !
NOW we began to think we might be SWALLOWED! !
{{ TO BE CONTINUED IF anyone SHOWS AN INTEREST }}
{{ Well I'll be a 'monkey's uncle'! ! Already Kim Barney, an award-winning poet in several U.S. states AND a fine fellow btw, showed 'enough interest' for me to submit this poem's finale/ending....which I've had 'waiting in the wings'.
Kim went so far as to kindly point out a 'silly' typo I'd made,
'wit' for 'suit'! ! How'd I manage to do THAT! ? It MUST have been the 'work' of 'The Dreaded Keyboard Gremlin'! ! ! Thanks Mr. Kim Barney. :) }}
(continued)
Next were drones & I thought: 'CIA &/or Homeland
Security? '
More countryside folk and livestock joined us BUT I
cringed & thought 'THE END' was a certainty.
But 'WAIT! '. We heard rumblings. Rumors flew. What
to do? What to do? ?
Whispers of 'Trump' and 'Biden' were soon heard.
Would our parade be joined by 'Joe' and/or 'Donald'? !
How absurd!
I and my wife's pigs, and those who had joined us wondered:
'Could it be? Such a fuss! ! '
This 'parade' began as a spontaneous Marshall jaunt off
'the farm'.
We never dreamed there'd be so much excitement nor
possible harm (done) .
We'd managed, no doubt, to be a colossal sensation.
Might we succeed, when others had failed, to bring
together this great nation? ?
And then, in my ears, I heard pigs softly-snorting.
My eyes popped open. We '8' were alone, and the
pigs were cavorting**.
Indeed we had stopped 3 miles from our secluded
home &.......
I'd laid down to rest and it had only been in my......
dreams that onlookers did roam! ! !
THE END

I wrote this as a 'gift' to two fine friends in Rochester NY,
Susie & Paul. I wrote it in approximately 20 minutes, BUT
it took 'hours' for me to type it [ usually using only ONE
finger ] & to proofread, edit, 'copy & paste' it, & submit it....
to PH, AND to proofread AGAIN! How, then, did I leave a
typo in my 'finished' (I think) poem-product? ? ?

An interesting poem about your pigs. This poem reminds me of pig parades in India on village roads where many pigs and piglets follow the herdsman in long queue giving no space to other people to cross them.
To all who have been and forever may be visitors/fans of this poem, my utmost THANKS are extended.
I like this poem, it shows our love and care for animals.
Gee, WHO said Bri loves animals? ? ? I can smell the pork chops grilling now! ;) bri
It would be a fun parade if there is one like this, probably an Animal Parade limiting to 5 farm animals; pig, cows, horses, goats and rabbits..
Rose Marie, I don't think I ever thought of 'rabbits' as 'farm animals'. I would think of farmers eating rabbit stew ater going hunting them on an adjacent farm. ;)
A one of a kind poem brilliantly crafted. Humorous and very entertaining.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
Funny fiction foisted upon us feeble souls.
Feeble you may all be, but you are MY feeble fans. Bless you all. ;) bri
