Pigs - A Fable In Modern Times Poem by Sidi Mahtrow

Pigs - A Fable In Modern Times

Rating: 0.5

Once was a man who believed the world was round,
Another said, 'That's quite profound.'
'But it's flat as we all know
And you'll sail off the edge in a windy blow.'

So he that sailed the ocean blue
Discovered; it's round; it's true.
He ate roast beef and much more
As trading came from every shore.

But the one who followed the flat earth policy
Found his stockings empty and was filled with jealousy.
Another said, 'Divide your spoils for that's what they are
Taken from others without a care.'

'Why share that which I have worked so hard to earn?
You my brothers, have much to learn.
Perhaps when your belly's empty you'll see
Without Free Trade, there is no cornucopia.'

Or, if you prefer:

This little piggy went to market,
this little piggy stayed home,
this little piggy had roast beef,
this little piggy had none, and
this little piggy cried, 'wee, wee, wee all the way home.
