Places On Earth Where Starvation Poverty Lives Poem by Terence George Craddock

Places On Earth Where Starvation Poverty Lives

millions of poor never see beyond the slums
millions of poor never see beyond servile slums
of suffocating cities experiencing chronic conditions
wretched live in poverty in weary perpetual subsistence...

in shanty cities live in dirt starvation poverty conditions
life live extorted extracted exist in weary waste subsistence
millions of cast down prostrated poor live on bruised knees
die flat on stomachs crushed by relentless poverty conditions...

where poverty dwells these wretches
see know nothing of earth's beauty darkness
woven into slum society brutality struggles...

blinds vision within scared sacred minds
denizens in disaster destitute countries
are poverty trapped within servile slums...

confined to slum spaces within barren perimeters
confined to their own stagnant flypaper made minds
cringing at shadows undulating upon walls blinds
where lean weak undernourished broken failing bodies...

show through underworld degeneration seams cracks
few ever possess belief strength chance to rise escape
above descendent inversion layers to live experience
what lies about among inspiring towering cumulus clouds...

starvation extreme poverty chokes
out light snuffing out dreams
meals comforting warmth hopes...

starvation blocking out golden rays
signifying life sustaining sun beams
freedom wealth faint dying dreams...
