Placid Pools Poem by Brian Chu

Placid Pools

Placid pools always leave good impressions
on crushed spirit
and chilled soul.
How lovely it is to sit anxiously
in solid air
and petrified water,
watching cowardly gargoyles.

Placid pools always leave good impressions,
Like
tender tendrils that rupture the heart.
such grace. such power. such
indomitable
decomposition.

Greatness flees the placid pool
Wariness leaps ahead,
for, indeed
I am weary
of writing,
of watching,
of thinking,
of swimming.
