How could I copy your poem and call it mine,
when the emotions and heart in it are not mine,
How would I relate to the golden sunset,
when I am stealing your wealth in bright day light.
How could I copy your feelings and call it mine,
when the pain and loneliness in it are not mine,
How can I convey my love to my lover with your poem,
when the yearning and desire of love are not mine.
How could I copy your precious art and call it mine,
when the mural of sentiments you created are not mine,
How can I see the steamy love in misty rain,
when I can only feel the fog on my mind's pane.
How could I copy part of your work and not call it mine,
When nothing better comes to my mind,
How can I relate to you and admire your work at the same time,
when I quote your work with proper reference, the plagiarism you would not mind.

An act of shame, low self-esteem and utter gaul! It has been done to me, and I know how I felt...and even though all my work is purely fictional, and has nothing to do with my personal life, as your poem so eloquently addresses...it matters not as it is MY WORK...Aand NOT for the stealing...Well Done, Jay ~FjR~
Ending was stellar!
Oh how I love this piece. What a wonderful slightly biting way to address plagerism. I love the tone of why bother stealing your work, when I have enough inspiration of my very own! Unique, well composed and much enjoyed!
