Poem About Poetry - Poetic Ritual

when inspiration comes
the world falls into place
words strew themselves
into verses filling up
a blessed receptacle
god joins you in your
honoured quest
to help you experience the better part
of his creation

when the poem is finished
the flower is in full bloom
god throws himself at your side
to savour the essence
of the blend of spirit with you
the poetic ritual is nearly done
pray that the next full moon
he will return to you
to help put the world in order
for another round of divine union

in a way, there's very little remaining to be said about the creative process after this...

Very nice description of writing a poem, John. 'God is in you to help you experience the better part of creation.' That's exactly what writing a poem is. Raynette
