I wept a bucket of tears reading those poems.
I wept so much that my eyes went dry.
The poets had such fearful notions.
Many of them even wanted to die.
But do they have to do it on a poetry site?
For me somehow it doesn't seem right.
Most of them appeared to suffer from the curse
Of ventilating pathological verse;
Some needed a psychiatrist's couch
(Viewing their versions I cried, ' Eww! Ouch! ')
Others needed a lonely cemetery
Where they could die easily of low-grade poetry.
Ever since I joined these poetry sites
I'm having a lot of sleepless nights.
I think most of these poets are crazy or daft.
They have no idea that a poem is 'craft'
Where wordsmiths forge a work of art,
Something that speaks to the innermost heart
And yet inspires thinking, stimulates the mind
To dig deep and study and trace and find
Nuggets of gold in masterly lines.
I've had enough of miserable moans and whines,
This yipping and yapping of rabid poetasters
Who kill beauty and truth - these tedious time-wasters!
Tan, this needed to be said! ! ! I thought I was being overly critical in my judgment; but, you are correct, much of it is terrible. Not many know what wordsmithing entails.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
Tan, There is much truth in humor. You have a wonderful talent, share it with the world. Looking forward to your next poem! !
