Poetry For All
When you can read a person's tale
And relate to the heartfelt words
Feeling their passion and maybe betrayal
Or just knowing that someone else hurts
When you can experience someone's joy
And appreciate how they feel
A daughter's graduation or the birth of a boy
Make words on a page become real
When you can laugh at somebody's humour
Bringing amusement into your day
A funny event or gigantic bloomer
Telling a story in a witty way
Because poets come in all shapes and sizes
There's something for everyone far and wide
Some straight forward, others hold surprises
A whole new world opens up to your eyes.
