Poetry Is Soul
Poetry is soul
Saturday,18th July 2020
"You shall be beheaded"
"or sent to gallows" when ordered
this is a royal decree
now you have been made prisoner and no more free now
such was a fate
whoever dared to recite
the poetry in open
you were not allowed to sing even
the words were to be rehearsed
and verses were to be made in praise
nobody could raise the head in protest
everything was taken in bad taste
Let my head be cut
but I shall stay put
the hymns shall be read
even if I turn dead
poetry has power and strength
and can go to any length
poetry is soul and divine
nobody on earth can define it
