Poetry Liberated Me Poem by Ananta Madhavan

Poetry Liberated Me

Poetry is for me
What sets me free
From bonds of sense
And logical pretense.

It gives me the countryside
Of language, words and pride,
To imagine or recall
The harvest of past years, my own and tribal.
Our history is by instinct ancestral.

We have been there before. I shall maintain
One day we may be there again.
