Poetry Writing Course Poem by Wojja Fink

Poetry Writing Course

Rating: 5.0

Today I asked if I could be excused
The few final payments on a poetry course
Out of work, we could meet in court
I am not disappointed, the lady who looked at my poems
Commented on a few grammatical errors
It was as if she took the wind from imaginations sails
And left me floundering on the rocks
Of numbness
It’s what they do I suppose
She has won countless competitions
What do I know?
Who is the teacher who is the student
I'm left wondering
Oh well, would rather listen to the wind and birds
Or the one who said “writing poetry will teach you poetry”,
The heart opens and the sky sails through
vowels flow from the river of joy
Speckled with spring sunshine
As the days get longer.

Aah thats better, and now?
a cuppa tea made with English reign, sod the spelin and grammar

I thoroughly enjoyed this -.Write what you want, write for yourself, and answer to nothing but your own imagination and sense of purpose. Keep sailing.....the current will take you even if the wind does not - Cindy
