Pop Star Poem by Justin Gildow

Pop Star

Pop star
I'm waiting for you
I'm waiting for you to sing
I'm waiting for you to take the microphone off
the mic stand
And come over to me
And sing to me
As well as interact with me

The night is here
And you finally arrive
Decked out in a glittery dress
Along with sparkling jewelry
You look like a diva
And less of a pop star
But the day has been hard on me
So if you want to
If you wish
Sing and entertain me
Let me admire your singing abilities and
your beauty

As you sing
You sing to me
You sing at me
You know what you're doing
In helping me leave my worries and cares
at home

You know how to go straight to my heart
like no one else can
In you, In your song
You help remind me of the joys of life
And at the same time
You know how I feel
You completely understand

You're a pop star
Yet you make me smile

As you finish your song
I clap for you
And you smile at me
You made me forget the hard day
I've had
And for you, I know your job at least for
tonight is done
You've had your fun
And you've enjoyed every minute of it
