Praises Of Love Poem by Francis Duggan

Praises Of Love

The praises of love many are known to sing
And to be in love is a beautiful thing
A beauty in words that seems hard to explain
Like raindrops on a rose petals in the sunshine after rain

But sadly love like the rose that is fastest to bloom can be the quickest to die
And that love is not all happiness is not a lie
Since sadly for some love does end in tears
And love's disappointment does linger for years

Love whilst it lasts has it's moments of bliss
It often begins with a passionate kiss
But few loves it does seem a whole lifetime does last
And some remember in sadness a lost love of the past

In every public bar in the sing along
Love in the encore of many a song
Someone you once loved quite hard to forget
A broken true love cause years of tears and regret

Like the droplets on the petals of the rose in the sunshine after rain
Often the beauty of love does not always remain
And memories of beauty can be made of tears
And linger in sadness for decades of years.
