Pray Prey Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Pray Prey

Rating: 5.0

Pray Prey

The beast is tiring
Running out of steam
Not out of carrion
Just boredom
Having the same meal
In the carnage
Of human flesh and blood

Even as it tires
It's seven canines sharp as ever
Hard at work
Ripping up the world.
The sharpest impaling hapless bodies
The second dripping blue blood
The third savouring dark meat
The fourth eastern cuisine

The fifth, sixth and seventh ready for new recipes
Of human beings
Of fleshy things.
It's metabolism slowing
Signs of hibernation showing
In just over a month the beast will tire
And sleep at the edge of horror

The edge of horror just a mirror
A portable to new suffering
For humanity
The beast having gone round the world
Eating.
Feasting on the seven tribes
As foretold long ago

Even as the beast tires
And prepares to sleep at the edge of horror
Beyond the darkness lies another
Fresh, hungry and ready to start feeding
Those bipeds that make it out of this quagmire
Fall from the stewing pot into the fire.
Crying and begging for quick death.

On the last day of December twenty twenty one
The new terror in the dark will open its eyes,
It's ravenous mouth
And partake of those who made it beyond.
Behold
The deaths will continue
Unabated

So pray
Pray Prey
Pray.
Pray for vaccination
Inoculation
From the beast of prey
And beat the east beast.
