Prayer Power

Too many boast of what they can
Yet fruit they seldom bear
To be in Christ, a mighty man
Be first a child of prayer

The strong oft pray without a pause
For hours on bended knee
They need to open many doors
And Jesus has the key

Though oft it’s hard to kneel and pray
Yet press for all you’re worth
Until the victory comes your way
Or till you’ve given birth

First then; you’ll know in Christ you’re strong
Satan will know it too
When on your knees you sing your song
He’ll flee away from you

Praying can set the captive free
The devil knows to well
The weakest saint on bended knee
Can send him back to hell

Whether we kneel or standing tall
We pray with humble heart
It’s God alone who brings to fall
Who makes the waters part

So when in life we see a need
And when through Christ we call
Our risen Lord will intercede
To bring the devil’s fall

Our prayer can give us swift release
Power; through Christ to share
It brings the faithful inner peace
Thank God His gift of prayer.
