Press Upon Our Shoulders Poem by Eric Zinbabora Batung

Press Upon Our Shoulders

Let the dawn of the day brighten our lives.
Give us cause to desire life for today and tomorrow.
so that our cares may not cause us to curse this cause,
But bravery to bare the brunt we bare upon our backs.
Press this peace we pursue upon our shoulders,
So that hope and help may hold our happiness
Till home becomes home indeed.
Regardless! We press on regardless! !
Regardless of the ragged road unfolding freely.

We proclaim peace of pace and freedom from our fears.
yes we know we can and surely so, it will become.
We will get to the bank of our dreams,
With smiles across our lips.
There we shall crossover
To the apotheosis of our very existence
Then burst into the laughter of a lifetime.
For the peace we have long sought we now have,
Tightly pressed upon our shoulders.
