Prince Charming Poem by Cheryl Cheng

Prince Charming

I took a walk in the morning,
Doing what I always do.
It was a bright and sunny day
When I met you.

You had your sexy smile,
As you greeted me.
And put out your hand
Which I took with glee.

And so we went out
On many wonderous dates.
Good and bad,
we shared our loves and hates.

I loved you, and you loved me too
One day you knelt down
and popped the big question.
I almost fell to the ground.

Of course I said yes
And we married so soon
Settled down in a nice house,
And had a romantic honeymoon.

Over the years, we had:
Two girls
One boy
Seven cats
Five (ish) dogs
Four fish
Three houses
and nevering love.

But over the years still:
The girls married off
The boy grew up
The cats ran away
The dogs were sold
The fish died
The houses lay in dust
And you left me; so painfully
For both of us.

And now as I sit here
Old and wrinkled and alone.
I think about our past
I look at my ring with a jewel-encrusted stone.

I had taken a walk in the morning,
Doing what I always do.
It was a bright and sunny day
When I met you.
