Princess Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Princess

Rating: 5.0

Princess
Your poems are not the attraction
just a fraction
It's your care
Your warmth
Your emotional interaction

Princess
Your hands are so soft
Your lips so sweet
Your affection so deep
Your touch, so right
I miss you oft

Princess
To you in your lofty tower
You read you scour over your reviews
hour by hour
Your subjects obliged to rate
or learn their true fate

Princess
You nail their heads to your mast
to make up for some loss from the past
As day by day your weariness grows
and the sun sets again
and another day of your life does pass

Princess
You think you have the power
to make your subjects dance
But you don't notice their frowns
Don't notice the tears
That run down the cheeks of your clowns

Princess
I felt something else in you
that you don't like to show
but of it I know
A soft heart of blue
I felt when you passed through

Princess
Your mouth is so warm
and silky and smooth
when you're on your knees
and the shades are drawn
and nobody is peeking through

Princess
They say she's a tester
likes to win with her kisses
and play with her mice
until they scream that they miss her
But I'm not your court jester

Princess
Your feelings are so deep
Your emotions so rare
but you don't realize
its only for yourself
that you care

Princess
If your charms can't nab them
Why do you have to stab them
Your anger so vile
Lasting such a long while
Eclipsing your painted smile

Princess
I wanted to hold you
just to take away your pain
to ease your strain
To kiss your sweet lips
again and again
