Prison Or Cell Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Prison Or Cell

Prison or cell

I am not alone
In this world and many have gone
Before me and shall depart after me
But land has remain heavenly free

Many have taken it as refuge
And never refused
Obligation bestowed by nature
Even though it kept us not always with pleasure

It made us to weep
Still kept
In good mood and happy
With aspiration to rush for needy

Such was fragrance of humanity
I forgot my own pain and poverty
And took it as healing grace
Offer some solace to people and bravely face

I am simple particle
Living as an individual
No one shall take note if I depart
So I need to think fresh and start

Who will envy in me?
If I am imprisoned and not free
Always think of time gone by
and don't try to come out strongly
