Projectile Malfunction Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Projectile Malfunction

Assumptions are quick to have them.
With impulsive actions.
Too late to retract,
An intention sent.
Riding high,
On someone's heated temperment.
And when that mixed message is received,
To another innocent...
Shocked into disbelief.
No excuse made can be recovered,
From what has been done to cause...
Permanent damage to a relationship.
Resulting by lies told and innuendos sold.
Sending a flurry of disgusting words.
Arriving at a door.
Before one has an opportunity to explain,
They would normally use their head to think.
But their heart would not allow them,
To sit and ignore the gossip.

"I'm a what?
I got your 'anonymous' message.
With you...
Written all over it.
Let's see.
I am...
A no good son of a mother what?
And this you sent to me anonymously?
To now say you feel guilty about it?
Have you lost your mind?
Again? ? ?
To think you and I can pretend,
Your action has aroused my passion?
Well...
Something inside your head has malfunctioned! "

-If you listen,
I can explain.-

"Whatever it is that you say,
Will never get me to rise to raise...
Your expectations to notice the lift! "

-Dont be like that.-

"You talking to me?
I am the operator.
Shouldn't you be giving me,
Your eye contact?
Up 'here'!
Where my eyes are at."
