Promise Me, We'D Stick Together! (A Daughter's Story) Poem by Nidhi Rajesh Kumari

Promise Me, We'D Stick Together! (A Daughter's Story)

Rating: 4.5

Was playing with Kitty in her garden
When she heard their altercation inside
It was no new, just a repetition of everyday
But, she still could not choose one side.

They argued and argued for hours together
Oblivious of the little girl feeling blue
And her heart that broken into pieces
Spectating how far love and smile flew.

She cried and cried, hiding behind a tree
Swearing all her toys for her family
A little girl, eleven years old, she was
Praying for them to be together till eternity.

They rushed out of the house, still fighting
Scared to see, she fled away
They looked around, in every corner
She ran blindly, lost the way.

The lady yelled out for her, broken
The man reluctantly, gave her hope
Said, she was just a little kid
Must be there, couldn't elope.

The day turned to its conclusion, yet
There was no trace of her,
They held hands and ran for search
Decided to call upon a police officer.

However, half a kilometer from the place
She was found crying in a park
They ran and caught her in their arms, elated
To have found their daughter before the dark.

She took their hands and made them promise
They won't ever break apart again
She loved her family, and wanted it
To stick together, in sun and rain.
