Promises Poem by Panda Broussard

Promises

A dark demon of pain entered my chest.
It grabbed hold, continuing the unrest.
Tossing and turning through the minutes of time.
Darkness has seemed to claim what once was mine.
Crippling the pain,
Falling down on my knees.
Here comes the light, do not be deceived.
For there is power in prayer.
Sending love and these needs up through the air.
He holds me now, in the palm of His hand.
It is on Christ the solid rock I stand.
'He gives strength to the weak and power to the righteous.'
'If Christ is for us,
Who can be against us? '
Reminding me of His promises I can now stand.
Thank you Jesus, in your holy name, Amen.
