Promises Poem by Adrienne Moore

Promises

You promised me the world,
You gave me a paradise!
You promised me your heart,
You gave me your soul!
You promised me pearls,
You gave me diamonds!
You promised me a Love without tears,
You gave me a Life full of broken dreams!
You promised me FOREVER,
You gave me one night!

Last night you said you never wanted to go,
This morning you said you couldnt stay!
Last night you spoke the words i didnt wanna hear,
This morning you took them back!

You gave me a life time of tears,
You promised me a life time of happiness!
You gave me black eyes,
You promised me eternal beauty!
You gave me your wifes diamonds,
You promised to make me your wife!

This morning you were gonna walk out that door again,
Last night was your last night walking!
This morning it would be back to the way it was,
Last night i put my misery to an end!
This morning i have to ran,
Last night i put a bullet to you head.

You promised me one thing
You gave me another
Now you can no longer make me suffer
I gave the pictures to your wife
And the letter that said you wanted to leave her
Well why didnt he stop and ask...
I would do anything for my SISTER
