Psalm 38 Poem by Parker Perrella

Psalm 38

I wallow in a pit of despair
My sins pile over me,
They flood over my head-
A burden too heavy for me to bear.
I fight for a single breath-
My lungs expand with self-efforts
I take in polluted air.
I grieve over my wickedness
Lord, do not punish me in your wrath
But save me from the snare.
Do not abandon me,
For I put my hope in you,
Lord, my Savior.
