Psalm 4 Poem by Parker Perrella

Psalm 4

My God, my judge, my vindicator-
"God of my righteousness"
My witness and my sustainer-
I stand before your heavenly court-
Be gracious and hear my prayer.

How long shall you love what is worthless and pursue lies,
You sons of men?
The faithful the Lord has set apart
By His divine election-
They shall love truth and pursue righteousness,
And they shall not be condemned,
Their cries shall not go unheard-
Lay and be still in careful reflection.
Consider the vanity of sin
And the worthlessness of worldly possession.

"What shall we do then to be saved? "*
Oh sinners, cling to the cross of Calvary,
Surrender there your trust and confidence
To the One who gave His life for thee-
Our Great Banner of victory-
JEHOVAH NISSI!

Know the joy of the Lord,
The ripest fruit of heaven-
And rest on the pillow of promise,
With the wings of God as your curtain.
