Psalms In Poetry - Chapter 91

1 The one who dwells in shelter of Most High
will rest in shadow of Almighty God.
2 I’ll tell the Lord, 'He’s my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.'
3 And He will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He’ll cover you with His feathers;
Under His wings, you’ll find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield, rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor arrow flying during day,
6 Nor pestilence that stalks in dark,
nor plague that destroys at midday.
7 Though thousand fall at your side, still
and ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come nearer you.
8 You’ll only see with your own eyes,
the punishment of those wicked.
9 You make the Most High your dwelling—
even the Lord, who’s my refuge-
10 No harm will come upon you then;
no disaster comes near your tent.
11 For, He’ll command His angels all
to guard you well in all your ways;
12 They’ll lift you up in their strong hands,
so that your foot strikes not a stone.
13 You’ll tread on lion and cobra;
you’ll trample lion and serpent.
14 'Because he loves Me, ' says the Lord,
'I’ll rescue him; I’ll protect him,
For, he acknowledges My name.
15 He’ll call upon Me, and I’ll answer him;
I’ll be with him in all troubles,
I’ll deliver and honor him.
16 With long a life, will I satisfy him
and show to him my salvation.'
