Public Enemy No.1 Poem by Paula Glynn

Public Enemy No.1

Rating: 5.0

Just say the word and I will do it,
For I am public enemy No.1 anyway,
They all believe I have a price to pay,
But I have a score to settle and a battle to win,
And if this means living a sinful life, I will do it,
Because I am me, all powerful and vengeful,
Getting revenge whenever I deem fit,
And on this gangster's throne I will sit,
Because I do whatever I want with whomever I want,
And they say I do the blackest of the arts,
That I fight the forces of good, but I see things differently,
I just do what comes naturally: fighting, if you will,
And I know my karate: I should do by now,
I have enough lessons to teach,
And no: I shouldn't preach, but this is my calling,
And when night falls, I will go onto the battle ground,
And stand my ground, even with all the knives in my back,
Because I am a superhero and a person who wins,
I travel all the forbidden lands and in every dispute,
I will make a firm stand, but I won't let my children live this way,
I do not want them to have a price to pay,
A price that I pay everyday of my life,
Where people would turn from me in the street, and keep their eyes downcast,
But I am not on their ship of fools; I do not like to be used,
I don't threaten or torture without good reason,
I do not abide betrayal or treason,
For I am boss and what I say goes,
And power within myself is what shows,
So I amy be public enemy number one,
But I am certainly not your fool, as I am the chosen one.
