Public Servants Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Public Servants

Public servants.
Who take oaths to be of service.
Publicly display,
A self serving to do with loyality...
Is their commitment to prove this,
In several public ways.
As if the public is deserving,
To perceive themselves as peasants.
Accepting the ones they have selected,
Capable to represent...
The very best of their interests.
Kept to keep the meeting to greet,
Expectations.
In long sought to seek celebrations.

And this obligation,
Is presented like all myths to wish.
With no difference to have made,
From other myths to have created.
Although...
There may be a delay,
In realizing some myths into existence.
Since others to portray,
Are much easier to deceive...
People who continue to believe,
They are being served what they deserve.
With faith, hope...
And kept fingers to cross.
