someone asked me,
what is your purpose in life?
then he told me this,
some answers i might find.
good son says,
i'm here to feed my family.
scholar says,
i'm here to study.
good heart says,
i'm here to give charity.
politician says,
i'm here to serve the country.
a poet may say,
i'm here to write poetry.
musician might say,
i'm here to love melody.
then he asked me again..
what is ur purpose in life?
and so i told him this.
i can be a good son,
a scholar,
a good heart, a politician.
i may be a poet and a musician.
i can be anyone.
but one thing will never change in me,
whoever i will be..
that i am just a servant.
and my purpose is to serve the one,
who gave me my life,
and all the talents i have.
i am here to serve God.

I have been watching for your poems, glad to see you have started, the rest will be easier just give it time.Enjoyed this one.
This is beautiful, Aisha. Thanks for putting things into perspective.
Aisha, this is lovely. If this is what you've been worried about submitting, I'd have to say you've been worried for nothing. See, I told you to take a chance! !
This is quite good, I like it. Well-written with a good flow. It gives me a feeling of gentleness, kindness. One correction: your/not ur. Otherwise, a very enjoyable read and hope to see more of your poetry.
