Pushed To An Edge Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Pushed To An Edge

Pushed to an edge

All the nations are run by bureaucrats
Who put on hats?
Sit in elegant office
And run the affair of nation with offices

The politicians are wholly dependent
As they are row and only notes are sent
Rest of the policy matters are decided by such officials
Who think it over seriously and the put a seal

Some of the policies are beyond their limit
We were forced to inherit
From our colonial powers
Who presented it to us as beneficial

They are never caught
While taking bribe because
Their signature made a lion's share
No one can deny this and have to take their care

The government policies are influenced
And sometimes they are introduced
As the main thrust for development
And real credit for present government

The government has become serious
And income tax department has made raids continuous
The black money is unearthed
The seizure is made public and well documented

It is tragic
And we apply no logic
The present generation lacks courage
And the country is pushed to an edge
