Radical Feeling Poem by Juan Olivarez

Radical Feeling

Today I feel so radical.
From my usual haunts I depart on this sabatical.
More than a feeling, I can't explain,
Like some worn out hippie refrain.
@@@@Groovy man@@@@@

I feel groovy, really far out man,
I'll let the wind blow me o'er the land.
I'll stop and smell the flowers so sweet,
Take a nap in the shade out of the heat.
@@@@Smell the flowers man.@@@

Today I feel young once more.
I'll leave and I won't lock the door.
I'll listen to Peter, Paul, and Mary too,
Just like the way that I used to.
@@Puff the magic dragon@@@@

Broke out my old bell bottom jeans,
That wasn't so wise it seems.
I guess there's no account for taste,
But I did not account for my waist.
@@What a bummer man@@@@
