Rain For Me Poem by Namita Rani Panda

Rain For Me

Rain drizzles
Rain mizzles
Peeping through my window sill
Entices me to move out and chill
And when I still lay still
She grizzles
I can only watch her intensely
Dancing on the lonely lane carefreely
Ah! Her fragrance mingled with the sweet smell of the soil
Sweeps away all my turbulent turmoil
Though my non- cooperative body lie on bed
As if half dead
Unable even to creep or crawl
Not so lucky like trees that stand sturdy and tall
Whose thirsty leaves drink gluttonously the soothing rainfall
But my soul gets soaked completely with her love
That drops rhythmically from the heaven above
Floats paper boats cheerfully
And jumps in puddles of water joyously
Enjoys the orchestra of the frogs' croaking
When the sky smiles with a flash of lightning
Raindrops drip drop from leaves and pitter patter
My heart leaps with her, a tireless dancer
But a dry log of wood I'm
Waiting eagerly for a cool shower of rain
Tender purple hope starts leafing
When she descends gracefully so pleasing
Really rain has come down
A heavenly boon
To relieve me of my pain
To take me with her to heaven!
