Rain Memories Poem by Sandra Black

Rain Memories

Memories of home in a drop
Loud strains of crazy pop
When the world was peace
And one didn't have to appease

Pattering down my window sill
Still at midnight I watch
enamoured by the pathetic fallacy
Watch it flow to the sea

Happy memories
Sad ones
Oneswhen we were
But young uns

Tis the same time
But yet it is not
This time it's too late
To turn the clock

Cause then love was free
And one didn't pine
Twas yours for the taking
Love divine

Now it is embittered
In shackles of steel
Tied in chains
To my very heels

The light glistens
On the lustrous drops
As they form rivulets
Without any stops

There may may be hope yet
They shine happily
I wipe my tears
And gaze cheerfully
