Rainbow In Sky Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

See the rainbow in the sky
Not a time to ask for why
It is there for all to see
Express views and feel free

I was warned sternly
“Don’t feel elated turn happily”
It has not rained really
All drops are stored in the belly

I was made to wonder
The clouds were armed and ready to thunder
I watched in her eyes all the seas
Full of depth but as if no shed under trees

I would want her by my side
Her angle is different and wide
She says no to all for complete defiance
I look towards her again and at once

What does she try to convey?
It worries and keeps me at bay
Even sea touches shores and at bays
I find no solution or other ways

I look and watch at natural rainbow
It seems beautiful but won’t allow
My fancy to touch and come back
As it is disappearing soon with cracks

I explained earth is in need and waiting
It is complete season and setting
She was running away and abetting
I was surely for her and batting

She would comfort but remain noncommittal
It was proving really a set back and fatal
What would I do when rainbow is disappearing?
I would slide near her for rearing

She is there but doesn’t mind
My being away or being unkind
It may be her style of loving
I have no option rather than believing
