Aren’t you amazed when the sky turns dark
And the air has got a certain feel?
You know something is about to change
And rain sort of fills the bill
You look up at the sky in expectancy
Just waiting for that change to take place
It’s really rather spell bounding
In that darkened wide-open space
And then a splash falls and hits your nose
You know you should run for cover
But you stand there waiting excitedly
If, like me, you’re a rainy-day lover
And then down it comes, of course
Soon it pounds upon the roofs
It’s kind of a miracle when you think about it
And the drastic change is the proof
The air changes then to a dampness
And smells so fresh and sweet
It pours down upon your head
And puddles beneath your feet
Everything will benefit because of rain
If it doesn’t go on for days
Oh yes, I think it’s enjoyable to have
A sweet refreshing rainy day!
