Ravages Of Time Poem by James B. Earley

Ravages Of Time

An unwelcome sign...ravages of time
...Why then...weigh lust on the mind
Passions of youth...lost to fragility of time
Once thought forever...the mirror outlined

......Distorted reflections
Not recognizing the aged man that I am
.....Imaginary......lust that I feel
'Tis but Houdini's flimflam

.....Though......try as one may
There's no escaping penalty of time
...Yet......yesterday's memories
Cling fast to such lust in the mind

Passions of youth...lost to fragility of time
....What once thought forever...the mirror defined
An unwelcome sign...its ravages of time
...Why then...imaginary lust of the mind
