Realism Poem by Jose Gutierrez

Realism

Seeing things how they really are,
Like your heart isn’t what makes love.
Just the blood that pumps one spot to another
Realism isn’t dead hope,
More of what cant be seen.

Emotion can be seen of love from one to another
But is there a real connection?
The brain is just a blob of water with electrical circuits with nothing else
But then how do two people connect?

Looks don’t make people love each other.
And if in some way they do they its has to be wrong.
Character might make someone like each other,
But that wont mean you’d get along.
So then how do two people connect?

In science it could be the brain sending chemicals.
In religion it could mean a mystical connection meant to be.
Everything else says what ever it wants,
But then what might the answer be?

I hear it from that kids last for a few days,
That teens it’s just a month,
And adults, when every they want.
But is that right?
There shouldn’t be a time limit.
Why do people just judge how long they last by age?
Why do people make such a big deal out of it?
Because they face realism.

Realism is here for a reason.
It might just be for the fun of it,
Or a deep meaning behind.

That’s just how life is though.
Facts that just cant be proven wrong
And if it is then it wasn’t a fact
But a mere opinion with logic

But if the fact isn’t proven wrong
Then its best to except it
What is to except?
Except that life might be meaningless
Except that everything you know might be wrong
Except that from day one, there was nothing.

But remember to expect one thing.
And the most important thing of all,
That maybe,
Just maybe,
You were right.
