Recalculating Our Lives Poem by Hebert Logerie

Recalculating Our Lives

Like a GPS, we need to recalculate our lives every day
As needed, from time to time. We need to walk away
From ourselves to do a self-evaluation, to reposition
Ourselves. At times, we need to pause, to take action
To remain silent, to revise, to review and to examine
And re-examine everything here. We need to be lean
Like a machine, we need to go over the whole thing
We need to step back, express ourselves and to sing
We need to recalculate our short lives on earth today
Because we're on borrowed time and we must pray
We must love, we must charm and must be beautiful
We must weep, cry, yell and laugh. Life is wonderful
Sometimes, we need to recalculate our lives every day
Right now. Like Olga Cadet, one day we will walk away.

P.S. Olga Oristel Lévèque Moïse Cadet, we will miss you.
May you rest in peace!
