Recent Surge Against Insurgency Poem by Chris Lane

Recent Surge Against Insurgency

Rating: 5.0

The Recent Surge helped reduce the insurgency.
Children died – Mother's wept wildly, Wives lost husbands, husbands lost wives
Children orphaned in a moment quickly stripped of any innocence or comfort they had known

More was lost than gained for the targeted; the cost staggering both mentally and monetarily
The Recent surge only fueled more resistance as vows and screams of revenge arose,
whilst the roar of attacker's aircraft fled the carnage towards the sanctuary of their base

Annihilation of civilians from high flying aircraft is always effective -
Back at base, a round of joyous applause, for they considered themselves not cowards
or war mongers or any other words that might describe “following orders”
Feeling they were more like excellent practitioners and skillful executioners in a hands off war.
