Recovery Friends Poem by Gillian Cripps

Recovery Friends

Rating: 4.7

Come walk with me in your mind a while,
Relax, unwind, and simply be,
Imagine sitting under a tree,
With dappled light drifting,
Through each leaf,
For you my friend and me,

A blanket of grass,
Offers a comfortable space,
For two friends to simply be,
In this time, space, reality.
There is no right or wrong or work to do
No past or future
Only time to simply be, so nice to be free.

I've been busy finding me
It's a journey I must do
To the best of my ability

You have been busy finding you
It's a journey you must do
To the best of your ability

I know God is with us
On our separate journeys
In recovery.

Just for today
I send a smile and a hug your way
To let you know
I think of you now and then
Of the time I had a good friend
Come visit me under that tree
In a place of tranquility.
