Red

to see her face, stings like hot iron
my chest melts as my heart ignites
like fire, my passion burns
to be with her, yet again
to see her, yet again
to touch her cheek
and look into her eyes
to feel my love, my passion
burn red
like fire my heart twinges
like fire my heart beats
like fire my heart yearns
never to be quenched
only by her dawning breath
and soothing touch
can this fire be satisfied
and until then will my heart
burn red

When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock
