Reflections So Still Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

Reflections So Still

Rating: 5.0

Reflections so still on the water,
A mirror of trees all around,
The colours do change through the autumn,
As leaves gently fall to the ground,
The pathway is lined by their patterns,
As scattered and blown by the breeze,
The sunlight is resting upon them,
Between the faint shadows of trees.

With far away dreams in the distance,
Now glowing as morning does rise,
And passing this way far above me,
I gaze at the bluest of skies,
The chill of the frost slowly melting,
And warming my heart with the air,
While leaves floating by on the water,
Now move within circles they share.

So peaceful the day now is ending,
Alone with the beauty I stand,
And holding the time and the feeling,
I capture the view in my hand,
And filling my senses with wonder,
I watch as the ripples do flow,
And meeting the edge of the shoreline,
As sunlight is sinking so low.

And the lake is now burning like fire,
In amber as evening does fall,
As shadows so deep start to lengthen,
And darkness beginning to call,
Reflections so still on the water,
A mirror of trees all around,
The colours do change through the autumn,
As leaves gently fall to the ground.
