Refusing To Pretend Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Refusing To Pretend

When people begin refusing,
To at least pretend...
They are not stupid.
There is so much more,
Than a mental crisis...
Going on ignored.
And...
Protected to defend,
The presence of this...
Abnormal dysfunction.
As a normalcy.
With it wished to want,
Others to recruit in protesting.
Against the ones,
Unable to convince them...
What they regard as normalcy,
Is definitely an intention...
To keep their minds,
Permanently functioning...
On fiction to delude,
Themselves...
As characters picked to play,
Heros and warriors.
From movies created.
To have been made to believe,
What has been fictioned...
Is their reality!
