"REGRET"

It's not about searching for someone you've already found,
Nor looking for the love you've already known,
But the agony of reminiscing the time you had lost,
The pain of missing someone you could have treasured the most.
The wasted days and years all passed by,
Living without your touch, your smile and warmth nearby,
T'was more than what my foolish heart can take,
Enduring the feeling of regret and the pain that goes with it.
We both search for happiness and fame we vainly tried to find,
Endorsed by our then young, adventurous spirit and arrogant minds,
We set aside the love we felt, thinking it was a thing better left unsaid,
To fade out, quenched and given-off for dead.
As the days and years hurriedly went by,
Life took us to a point where we both unceasingly sigh,
When we remember that we could have make it the other way,
Our lives could be better-off now; today than it was yesterday!
Those lonely years took us further away- like a current of a tide,
Alone, abandoned, forgotten; like a fleeting thought;
Aimlessly wandering, floating, toast about by the thunderous waves we fought,
Everything we selfishly dreamed of and labored for about is all but nought.
Yet with this being said and done, surprisingly ourselves we find,
Still bearing the love we kept and felt; stronger now as it was then,
Older now yet wiser…cherishing, loving, forgiving, adoring…
It has outlasts a lifetime, patiently hoping, patiently waiting…
Those wasted years were all but a test,
For the love that lingers on- expects nothing but the best,
We both knew love refuses to give-in or give up its' post,
Believing what we really loved can never be lost!

I would like to translate this poem
A fine piece of poetry. When it comes to learning how to live this life, are the years ever wasted? Enjoyable writing, my friend.
