Rehashed Poem by Stephen Dodge Stepen

Rehashed

I do my best
To straddle the fence
Neither side do I belong
Can't seem to do too good or too wrong
Just bad enough not to fit
Want it bad enough, I can't quit
Wishing I was one or the other
This so troublesome and a bother
Feelings of isolation and defeat
Where heaven and hell meet
The clashing of the tides
The thorn in my side
When there's no where left to turn
Light both ends, watch them burn
The flame dancing in the dark
Before the candle goes out
Then the smoldering ashes
Of a life no longer rehashed
